Zach got his start in the AV world running audio for high school talent shows at his alma mater, Chautauqua Lake Central School. From there, he attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and worked closely with the AV Department to help with larger events on campus. From Greek Life events to religious services to theatrical productions, Zach grew both in his knowledge of audio/video gear and the best way to operate the gear in different spaces. Zach was often called on as a backup by his best friend in the AV department to help with campus events.
From 2014-2021, Zach worked at Chautauqua Institution on the AV Crew, rising quickly through the ranks to seasonal supervisor, and eventual year-round AV Technician. In this role, Zach served a variety of groups and events such as conferences, lectures, small-group meetings, classes, acoustic musical performances, and weddings.
